    Last minute confidence

    Hi guys.

Well, there's this girl at school I really like, and I'm pretty sure she likes me too.

Anyway, as some of you may know, since my last relationship, my confidence has gone down the drain. I'm going to give it my best shot tomorrow but am a nervous wreck, any pointers to help keep me confident?.

    Thanks

This is weird, but the way I gain confidence (I do it before giving lectures/presentations), I tell myself who I am "you ARE kez, you CAN do this" and just repeat it. I am someone who is confident, I can do it. It's programming the mind to do something. It works a treat for me.

Also, feed off your nerves, if you get nervous, use them to boost your confidence, they're a fuel for it!

I kind of know what you mean. I'm one of those people who think over things over and over and over again, and when you get nervous it's not a good thing. In this situation I guess I'm going to have to jump in head first, but hopefully won't make a prat out of myself too

Remember to get her number the morning after you stay at her house after pulling in a club (seriosuly, did this with my current gf, was on my way out the door and she had to remind me, doh)

Have something in mind to do, if youre asking her out make sure its to somewhere, can you drive? If so somewhere local but nice, if you can get to filey go for walk on cliffs then to the harbour bar for cake, women like cake.

Dont do something like in town shopping, because, a) shopping is dull, especially with women, youll have plenty of time for that later. and b) youll probaby see all her mates etc, which is awkward.

I was thinking about maybe taking her to the cinema on saturday night, bit cliché but should be fun.. possibly pizza after.

    Yes I can drive... but I don't have a car, and I don't have a licence.

Edit: Yeah.. I know what you mean about going shopping and with her mates... my girlfriend before last, she brought about 8 mates with her lol, christ was that akward!.

Ah right, that kind of limits your options then, how far out of town/away from cinema does she live? meeting her at her house, even if youre on the bus would be a nic egesture.

Not really answering your question am i? I dont tend to get nervous, but if you do there isnt really anything you can do about it, concentrate on regulating your breathing helps, but not if you are talking, just try not to talk too fast, and dont worry about it, if she says no who cares? plenty more fish in the sea.

    Indeed.

I don't know where she lives, I think she MAY live in the Ayton area.. which is about 4-5 miles away from me, but theres nothing to do round there anyway, and people from Ayton always go into the main parts of Scarborough when they want to go out... and the Cinema from my house, the closest is about 3/4 of a mile.

Oh, and I didn't think about breathing.. when I get nervous I do notice I get shortness of breath.

Mypoint being meeting at cinema < you going to her house, even if its only so you can get the bus together.

It would be easier for her to come to my house, as it's on the way, otherwise it would be like going 5 miles out, 6 miles back and meh.. hard to explain.

I'd rather go pick her up though, maybe she doesn't even live in Ayton. Hmmm.

Would it not be right to see if I can get her to call for me?.. we can still get the bus together to the cinema from mine though. Agh. I'll think about this later, just need to build my confidence up on even asking her out yet

    Any tips on convo starters?

I already know her name, found out by asking around, but think I should still ask for it? I think it's best I still introduce myself even though it's very likely she knows my name (I know her friend, and I've heard her talk about me to her before).

I have a few things in my head to talk about, and I know it will just go from there, but actually STARTING a conversation.. don't want to jump in on anything tottally random. Might try and make her laugh by how I got soaked in slush from the snow last Friday..
