Has anyone noticed in the last few days it saves a draft every.. 30 seconds or so when typing a message? I think this is great, because if your browser crashes then you can just load up the draft again and you don't have to retype tons. And if it sends ok, then it deletes the draft.

Really good idea, has happened a few times where I've typed a long message then the browser crashed or something like that happened.

I don't use the gmail webmail.. I only use it on Pop3... Speaking of which, does anyone else? And do you find it somewhat unreliable? Half the time it refuses to connect

I've used it before, most of the time it's worked ok for me. Only problem is the stupidity of all the pop3 settings (different to the usual ports and such).

I've practically stopped using POP3 mail and switched entirely to gmail thanks to the 'send as' feature

I acess my gmail via MS Outlook - and never have a problem with it - always works
only use webmail when iam away from home, ive got it setup so all my emails stay on the server so incase my pc goes wrong i can just download all my emails again

and stop moaning about X40A

EDIT: I'm definately right. Run a search for gmail auto-save and you'll see that it has been around for a while.

Fair enough, it might be because I'm using a UK Gmail account. Because I've noticed slight changes when your using different language settings.

I never bother with POP3 anymore. I used to use Thunderbird and OE, but not i just use the Gmail notifier extention and Firefox. I have never found a good reason to go back to POP3 access since.

I prefer G-mails web interface to Outlook, not sure why, just get on with it better.
