Paypal question

I just downgraded from a Premium account to Personal, however. Now I cannot accept credit card payments.

I remember breifly reading a post somewhere on these forums on how to accept them.... I think someone said something about using two accounts... but that would mean two email addresses and two bank accounts right?

WTF why would you downgrade? You need a premium account (or it might bcalled something else) to accept card payments....

And I wanted to downgrade because I'm fed up of getting fee-charges all the time. I've probably already lost about £20's worth within the last 2 months or so.

Using a personal account you can accept other payments just not Credit Cards.

That also includes debit cards as far as I'm aware. And most people pay for stuff with a debit/credit card...

No it doesn't include debit cards, just credit cards.

I know most people pay with debit/credit cards.. that's why I want to have some sort of back-up account I can use incase if I have to accept a credit card payment.

If you have a personal account, and you receive a payment, you do not get charged a fee by PayPal. If you have a premium account, you do.

lol, yeah. But I don't think you can add the same bank account more than once to a PayPal account.

The only way I can think of doing it at the moment is opening another bank account, but it can't be that complicated...

As I originally said though, I remember once somebody posted a way they did it.. I can't remember what they said exactly as I just breifly read through it.
I've tried searching the forum too but can't find anything.

lol. That's what I have been doing, but it's just getting a bit irritating now, as I've been selling things on eBay and I'm getting charged by PayPal for them. I don't have a job yet so all the penny's count .

Surely you could transfer from the premium account to the non premium, and then to your bank account? The confusion aros because in your first post you wrote:

I dont know how paypal works, but surely one of the two accounts would have to be premium? Dont they charge a flat rate? or is it a % of everything that goes through the account?

I'm not sure what % it is. But for about £30 they take about £2 I think.

I'm not sure what you mean by what you said above though... to downgrade your account you need to contact PayPal and ask for it to be downgraded, and you can only downgrade once... you can upgrade back to Premium but then your stuck with it.

Originally when I signed up for PayPal I had a Personal Account, and somebody paid me via a Credit Card, so I had to sign up for the Premium account before I could accept the payment.
