All music taste is a matter of opinion...
...but at the same time I want to hate them for no valid reason
i got mine, they are definatly original with there songs and lyrics.
"your not from new york your from rotheram"
"Now then mardy bum, looking at your frown is like looking down the barrel of a gun"
etc etc
I personally think they are living off hype at the moment, and a lot of people like them because they want to go along with this hype. Let's see if they are about in a few years.
listened to all their tracks before the big hype... i realy did like them, well liked well every song... Now.. everyone basically bums them for a few cruddy songs and their terrible new album....
the new album consisits of all remade track of which are all slower, worse lyrics, renamed tracks, slightly different beat, calmer/boring, no real drama emphasis or anything their original songs were much better... now they simply suck they have changed to POP! and proberly won't go back to their real roots... which were as still are much better than the music they are now producing, especially the stuff they are likely to produce. *makes me crindge*
nearly brought tickets for cambs early december... Glad i didn't now *phew*
edit: Blah! i can't believe you are all listening to the well frankly c**p verions of all their songs on the new album....
i think i might hate it alot more as n00bies love it and they are going to loose any tallent they previously had.

I'm trying to remember the last single I bought. I'm pretty sure it was 'In Too Deep' by Sum 41*. Has there been anything worth lisening to in the charts since then?
*Great song- but an utterly almighty video, that's why I bought the DVD
Bet you liked Nirvana before they were popular tooOriginally Posted by webbyman
Don't like em, and after seeing Hard-Fi as the supporting act at Green Day last year I can tell you they weren't that good eaither....I seem to remember the only applause they got was when they said it would be thier last song of the set LOL

How elitist are you? I bet you listen to bands just 'because no-one else knows about them'.Originally Posted by webbyman
Personally, I've been listening to Arctic Monkeys for ages and they werent anything that special to begin with. Certainly not as good as all this hype has made them out to be.
After listening to their album a few times, the only song which has really been changed is A Certain Romance. They slowed that one down and imo, it doesn't ruin the song in any way at all.
I can't stand them personally, same old same old indie-pop that you get all over the place these days (other examples inc Hard-Fi, The Killers, the strokes, bloc party etc)
But they will sell loads of records because at lot of people like that type of music..each to their own
try ebay for tix - tho they will be exensive
I saw them at Reading last year, stood near the front for two bands before just to get to the front for them.
Was also lucky to see them on the first date of their last tour in Oct Nothing beats seeing them in a 300 person venue before they got hyped up.
I didnt wanna see them this time as it just wouldnt have been the same.
Had enough of the album too, everyone is like 'wow its so amazing' but any real fan had heard almost all of the tracks ages ago when they had them for download on their forums.
Just another over hyped NME cover band.
i think there great- the album is really good to. I would have liked to have seen them - but id rather go to the download festival more
If you havnt heard it yet, try the Kooks album - i would recommend it
