Does the new logo look lame?

Well basically I've updated the logo @ my blog and have been wondering if it looks a bit OT or completely pants... Also I wasn't really sure where this should be posted so in general is goes.

logo looks good. what software have you used to create the site ?

Photoshop for the artwork, and a text editor with syntax highlighting, i.e. emacs, SubEthaEdit but now I use TextWrangler (a Mac program). I still love emacs tho heh..

The little bit of code under the logo is from a python util I coded this week and I'm really loving python and pyGTK

As for the theme etc, it's a heavily hacked, coded theme with Wordpress running in the background. The new WP really rocks too...

Ages ago my blog really looked crap and I really didn't bother doing anything about it...but then I noticed that my site was getting quite a bit of hits. For the past year or so I've been getting a solid avg of 150,000 hits per month but this Jan and Feb have taken it up to 178,000 hits each month.

So even if no one cares, I shouldn't let it look shoddy and I enjoy messing with the layout once in a while

Yeah I also am of the opinion that blogs have no place in this world. If you want to write articles, then write articles and publish them on your page. If you want to tell people about what you ate for dinner, then please die.

The nice thing about blogs are with the hectic life style that most people lead it is hard to keep track of what your friends have been doing as of late and you can always say 'go here' and they can pretty much find out what you had for dinner...

I don't have anything against anyone being able to publish what they wanted (although before blog hosting came along this meant you needed some degree of technical skill, which at least kept things to some sort of standard), it's the fact that most blogs are like 100% full of crap, or endless links to another blog, which then links to the real article, as though people care so much about viewing figures.
