    AS Resit results

How did everyone do? Our resit results werent supposed to be given to use until next week, no idea why, all the other colleges and sixth forms in the area were due to get theirs today, turned out we did too in the end.

I resat both my A-Level standard (not AVCE ) ICT papers (ICT1 + ICT2) and got 72 marks on both, which I think is two As! Risen from 2 Cs, the mark was considerably lower first time around so either way I'm happy with that.

I also resat my New Media Technologies (Media Studies) paper, only that one, got a D originally, and got an A this time around Really happy, makes these next few weeks for me a little easier.

    That leaves me with:

    B - English Language & Literature
A,A,C (2x exams + coursework) - ICT, which should hopefully round to a B, maybe an A if I'm lucky!
A,A,D (again 2x exams + coursework) - Media Studies, which will more likely be a B, maybe resit the D paper in the summer to try and bump my grade up.
C - Design & Technology: Product Design - already got my resits set for those in the summer, they don't run them during the winter resits

Much happier with my results, and they all come into play again for the final grade were both AS and A2 grades are taken into consideration for final mark!

How did everyone else do? It was a very mixed bag at my sixth form..

I done real crap, my fault for not revising really. TBH, I've never revised for any test since my Year 9 SAT's

    For computing A-Level, i got 63, 58 and for the new Unit 5 I got 50

I also have no idea what those marks mean lol

In fact the only reason why I got my resit results today was due to me asking why the hell the huge great stonking line in the middle of our common room, I completely forgot about em

Oooerr, I get my AS module results tomorrow. I think I did fine in Maths, Further Maths and Physics, but I just didn't like the Economics paper.

Anybody here doing General Studies? (Mmmm, six papers)

doing General Studies in the summer. What joy

Incidentally had a bloke introduced as Mr. T come and supervise us doing some pretesting of some questions. Was an absolute waste of time, as most coloured in random boxes (gotta love multiple choice )

Ah well, gotta love it lol

Got results today, 4 A's in A2 Biology, AS Maths, Further Maths and Physics.

Maths managed to get 99 and 98 out of 100 and got strong A's in Biology and Physics, sweet

Also at our college if you do 4 subjects in the second year, whether its 3 A2's and 1 AS then you're exempt from General Studies

Lots of uni's don't count general studies as a subject, that was the case when I was there anyway

Yea I've been told its usually a good idea to take General Studies just as a backup in case your results are slightly lower than expected. Say if you were offered a place on BBC and you got BCC or CCC then you may still be accepted due to a good result in General Studies.

Woohoo! 4As! And I got 100 in my Mechanics paper! Didn't do as well as I would have liked in Economics, so I'll probably resit that next January, but an A is an A!

General Studies is a subject where you don't really need to learn all that much beforehand so long as you have a fairly good grasp of Maths, Science, etc. and some decent common knowledge... so I'm told.

My sixth form doesn't run that Seems a bit of an odd "subject" to me.. - a case of too many teachers and not enough to teach?

General Studies is compulsary for my school, its a loada blox really, no-one cares about it, near enough zero universities take it.

I was well chuffed with my grades, managed to get my Econmics grade from a C to a very, very high B (two marks off A) Maths I got two A's in my modules aswell, so I need less than 50% in my last module to get an A .
You've got to have a dream, if you don't have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true?
