    yeah it takes a few days but they can't bounce like cheques can in my experience, especially if done in person at a local branch.

    Bank transfers take 2 working days between different banks (should be immediate if you are both at the same bank) before the funds will be in. If accepting a cheque I strongly advise you "specially present" the cheque this will give a guaranteed answer and cannot be returned afterwards. Also please note a paid chq is not the same as a cleared chq!
