Favourite place to holiday in the U.K?

Where is your favourite place for a holiday in the U.K?

I like Tenby in South Wales but I've been there so many times I think it's time for a change.

Any suggestions? I like peace and quiet rather than cities, not too fussed about a beach. Just somewhere with nice scenery.

being a blackpool lad (originally anyway ) and was only a stones throw from the Lake District, a quality place for a UK holiday

also, me and some friends found a nice place in oxford (cant remember where exactly) but just booked to go there at easter

Scotland.

I've climbed everything over 4000ft, and many others. Go for the West side for rocky peaks or the East for rounded domes. The caingorms are more accessible if you're not up to masses of hill climbing. Cairngorm itself has a funicular which allows easy access for walks on the plateau. Ben Nevis near Fort William has a very easy route up, and a fantastic Arete and scrambe for the more adventurous. Cuillins on Skye, or the Knoydart area are also fantastic.

Cant go wrong in Norfolk, we holiday there regularly and its very quiet.
No major roads near the coasts and very laid back.

Somewhere busy, too quiet where I live. Been to London a couple of times, loved it!. Need somewhere to go where there is lots of stuff to do too.

The Lake District & The Scottish Highlands are my personal favourites.

When me and my wife went on our honeymoon, we didn't plan anything, didn't book anywhere, we just jumped in the car with a map (oh those carefree tomtom-less days) and headed off somewhere at random. Ended up in a few different places, Fort William, Loch ness, Windermere and a few other places in between that I can't actually remember the names of

Another thumbs up for the Lake District

Many a weekend in summer myself and a few mates drive up to hawkshead and kip in a field that 1 of the local farmers lets people camp in for very little fee's ( IIRC it was about 5quid a day for 3 of us lol ). Basic ammenties, but hey your in a tent roughing it and we usually are too drunk etc to worry anyway by the Saturday.

Recently went to Malham, in Yorkshire blinding place, beautiful scenery, quiet, easy access to stuff to do and best of all? 2 FAnTASTIC pubs within a stagger of each other, ie fall out the door of one, stagger over the bridge and fall into the other one

the Uk is crap

these so called "Haven" sites are just a complete shame to the UK no doubt about it- and cheesy stuff liek Flamingo land and gulivers world- not good anymore...

although a good trek to London would be nice

i cant name any good places in the uk...
