    Its official cd-wow suck

Got one of the £5 wouchers outta a thread on bargain hunt last week, today I was bored so I thought I'd go see what I could get with it, typed in scrubs season 3......nothing, ok I'll look for something else problem being I have a rather large dvd collection, after about 30 minutes of searching through categories and whatnot I eventually gave up and went to play.com to browse and then searched for what I wanted on cd-wow better results but cd-wow didn't stock any of what I was looking for......

anyway about 20 minutes later I thought, I know I'll order jaws, ain't seen that in ages and cd-wow are bound to have it, searched for it and low and behold they had it, in stock at the bargain price of £6.99, then something caught my eye on the right hand side there it was.....

I agree, their search is appalling. It gives the impression that they don't stock much at all.

Yeah cd wows site is completely uselss

The site made me lose my £5 voucher . I tapped the code in, it accepted it, clicked the pay button and the site just froze. Went back tried again, same thing happens. It just hung completely at that stage every time. When i tried it again later it said i had used my voucher muppets.

Further more to my list of complaints i would like to add that they gave me my voucher (that the site then proceeded to rob me of anyway) only AFTER i had ordered Scrubs season 3 and my moms monthersday present. Conincidence? i think not

I also find their delivery takes aaaaaaaaaages - it may be due to where they are based, but that doesn't matter to me, I would rather buy from Play where prices are just as good and delivery is far quicker.

I've started using Amazon over Play. Sure it's a little more, but the stuff doesn't take a week to arrive, and isn't broken when it gets here.

CD wow is normally 4-5 working days for me (coming from Hong Kong so not bad) but Play is at least 3. DVD.co.uk are fast and sometimes a quid or so cheaper than play.

Anyway, regarding what i posted above about the site messing up my £5 discount. I emailed cd wow about it and got an email back within 2 minutes telling me the vouchers only lock for 24hrs and that it would still be valid- it was. Sin City on the way

Good customer service then even if the website is slower than a coffin dodger paying for a £5 magazine in wh smith with nothing but 2p's (believe me i know about that). I found that the site doesnt like firefox and the only way i could search for sin city was by googling it- for some reason their website says they dont stock it :confused (must lose them a fortune)

Yes their search engine is pants but I've always had really good UK based customer support from CD wow and that counts for alot to me.

I ordered a dvd from them last friday for £10.00 and used a £5 voucher and a £2.50 voucher to make it a paltry £2.50.

It arrived in the post today safe and sound and I'm more than happy with cd-wow so far.

I have had the oposite experence, I find play are alot quicker than amason, unless you pay over the odds for delevery. Not worth the extra cash imo.

i would prefer it if play used the cardboard cd and dvd packaging more, instead of the padded envelope. Not only are they stronger and less likely to damage your CD, but they are more recyclable.

Don't play and a couple of the other companies already do that for standard size dvd's? Infact i'm sure play.com do.

sometime they do, sometimes they don't. most of the CD's i get are in padded envelopes, but most of the DVDs my brother gets are in card.

I had the exact same problem, although I ordered mine from Play.com, still lets me play though so I ain;t that bothered, just the box is huge.

Never really got on with CD-WOW's site, and 4 out of 5 CD's I ordered from them a couple years ago had cracked cases so I gave up using them.
