Help me generate heat

The heating has packed up, and despite everyone in the house having to wear coats because its freezing, my dad refuses to do anything about it because he’s lazy and doesn’t feel the cold.
At the moment ive got a couple of monitors running, all my PC’s going at full load, The 360 on, original Xbox and any other electronic device that I have. Unfortunatly it seems that printing a few hundred sheets of text doesn’t generate much heat from my Printer.

Im currently considering trying to start a small, controlled fire in the corner with all the cardboard I have from the deliveries ive had from Scan. I see a minor flaw with it burning right through the carpet and into the living room however.

I have some gloves somewhere which im about to go in search of, as I can hardly type.


To summarise:

What does help heat my room

+Computers and related parts
+Monitors
+Consoles

What doesn’t help

-Speakers (just angers people in the household more)
-Printers
-Lights (at least not the ones in my room)
-Fire wood that’s not on fire
-Dwarf rabbits

As you can see, I have more negative points that positive ones.
Im in desperate need for suggestions.

Whatever you do, lighter fluid and your own body hair is not the answer...although pictures posted online displaying the after effects may generate sufficient donations to purchase an electric heater....

Or you could tell your dad what you're doing to his electricity bill, and he'll probably beat the cr@p out of you, at which point being cold will be the least of your worries...

Make sure you close the windows including trickle vents if you have them. Pull the curtains shut. Then draft proof your door. Just hang a big sheet over the arcies at the top and put something heavy at the bottom. Soon as you stem the airflow it's gunna start to heat up with a few monitors.

If you want you can always take the top 8" of soil off the top of your garden. Then roll out some 20mm alkyethene pipe about 1/4mile in a coil over the surface of garden then cover again with soil. Connect both ends to a radiator with a pump somewhere along the line and fill with anti freeze. Voila your own free (minus materials) heating system

Would have to be kettle water though, no central heating!

Well atleast i have solved the cold hands issue - Grabbed the Harddisks out of the machine, put them on the desk: Instant hand warmers !

and to be obvious, close the windows/curtains/doors.

tbh, the heating has never, ever worked in our flat. ever. lived here 2.5 years now, gets a bit nippy in the winter, but not too bad, and theres no heating bill to get thru
