    Creating A Good Credit File

So I just turned 18 a few months back, and have been wondering what I should do in order to get a good credit file. At the moment I currently pay a contract phone and internet each month, dont know if they contribute to my credit score, I also keep getting hounded by barclays to apply for a credit card.

if u gotta direct debit set up make sure u dont miss a payment or it really messes up ur credit file.

u should apply for a credit card use it sometimes but dont miss monthly payments, so the next time u apply for a loan or sumthin and they see u've been paying off ur bills it looks good,

my bro works in a bank he tells me the refuse ppl loans and credit cards becuase of late payments etc.

Yea, i nearly did miss my phone payment, o2 sent me a letter basically saying if you dont pay it 7 days, it will adversly affect your credit rating. Got it all sorted though.

Use the credit card a lot use it to buy things for other people (obviously take the money
first and put it in your account) trying to max out your limit.

Thats if you want to get a high limit and good rating quickly.

Just get yourself a credit card, as long as you pay it back and don't delay anything then credit cards are good things .

It's just bad if you take advantage of it and spend more money than you have - e.g. just use it as you would use your debit card, but the money you have in your bank you use for the credit card bill.
