    Royal Mail and Small Packages

When you go to the post office, say if you have a package that costs 50p to send via 2nd Class, they give you a stamp with 50p on it.

Now if you bought a standard second class stamp for 20p or whatever it is, would it still arrive at the same time or would they just delay it even more?

    Cheers

with packages you generally write "FIRST CLASS" or "SECOND CLASS" in warm friendly letters on the package.

stamps which have a 1st or a 2nd written on this do that for you.

hence why if your over wieght on a 1st class, they don't assume its okay to send it second class, they send it first, and fine the recipiant to recieve it
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)

yeah they charge the extra + £1 handling fee to the recipient however they rarely collect it if it will fit through the letterbox..

this is from the post office web site but in my expierence with small letters or parcels in general they just forget it.depends though on area as mate has had to pay before.
just a thought if you ever send mother in law a big empty jiffy bag with lead in it and put
10p postage on it she has to pay the rest !!!
