Lots of errors for such a short post:

    1. People are driving on the correct side of the road.
    2. As pointed out above it's not the UK, but Oz or NZ from the uniform, the tree, most definitely the speed limit and the fact that any UK dual-carriageway would have road markings along the nearside and noone would be allowed to park a big unstable trailer adjacent to it.
    3. As to the spelling of 'doughnuts'...as well as giving us all a lesson in English you might also like to explain to us the offside rule, or cricket?

If you look at the left of my name you'll see that I'm from the US, where we drive on the right, the car we see is coming towards us and is on the right, meaning its driving on the left, the wrong side of the road. As for donuts see http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=donuts to see that both are acceptable spellings. You win on #2.

Who is to say the ausis and kiwis don't drive down the wrong side of the road too ?

I live in the UK and I've never seen a cop looking like that. Let alone one holding a radar gun like that.

    Google says:

The UK is correct because most people are right handed and traveling by horse in the middle-ages you needed to be able to draw your sword and defend yourself if the approaching rider was a threat. sort of evolved into what it is today. In America right handed people used whips to drive the horse teams by being on the right side of the road it minimized accidentally hitting oncoming wagons.

Well well well, you learn something new everyday.

While us brits were on the left hand side ready to slash people, the americans were trying to avoide it. Interesting...

not quite how you'd expect things to go now is it. mind you, is that the first case of health and safety going a bit mad? I mean surely we had horses and whips here too. clearly the british proving their superiority once again at not actually hitting passers by with their flailing whips...

    1. Technically, I'd need to look below your name rather than at the left of it.
    2. The car is driving on the correct side of the road in that it's the side that all the other cars moving in the same direction along that road are driving on, and far from being a happy coincidence this is almost certainly because legislation requires they do so. You would have a dangerous time driving in Australia (or Japan or the UK) if you stubbornly regarded the left as the wrong side to drive on, because 'wrong' is not a global constant any more than the...
    3. ...spelling of 'doughnuts' is. You provide a link to 'The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language' which is quite a comical thing to do. 'Donut' may be the US variant of the word but it is not a word in the English language any more than 'beignet' is. This is an English forum so GIT ORF MOI LAAAAAAAND.
