Enjoyed it but ... the inside driving part was pointless. The fire would have incredibly dangerous if it wasn’t staged. They set fire to the exit of the other caravan for starters. I’ve noticed a few recent TG pieces seem contrived.

Interesting section about the Vectra, Mazda 6 and Mondeo. I'd want something nicer than a Mondeo for ~£20k.

    picks up what? another award?

If you had watched any of this series (or last few) you would have got in the general mood of the program... every race against something that isnt a car is too bloody close to be real. the *pick 3 cars and make them into boats* was far to funny to be true. And yet you still cant get into that zone where you find genuinlly funny stuff interesing. i dont think there going to go back to whatever the hell format you remember so id just give up now....

LOL! But still like Madduck said that REALLY wasn't the beggining of the series it was replaced by the world cup and that sucked anyway in the end (damn Portugese....again).
Anyway if you didn't see the rest of the series it was great they 'hijacked' a drive time radio show and pissed of a large amount of the public and then legged it before the show finished, converted a renault espace into a convertible and set fire to a brand new £1,000,000 car wash with it and converted cars intp amphibious vehicles (Jeremy had a Hilux, Hammond had a Volkswagen camper-van and May had a classic open top 2 seater (much older than me )) and more you missed out.

    Give up what now?

Yes i watched other episodes, i thought it was a new series but i see they had a break for the world cup. But yes, I should be executed immediately for making such a diabolical error

I dont know what your problem is, apart from being rude and a complete child, but i simply said this episode was weak, which compared to other episodes, like the ace boating one etc, i thought it was. Oh, a caravan one fire, thats sooooo funny!!! Oh look, now they have run over a tent they clearly put up themselves, hahaha! Thats hardly great entertainmet, i bet your a South Park fan. Although Clarson slagging off caravaning holidays was pretty funny.

he 3 car roundup was 'interesting', but hardly amazing enterainment.

Like i said, i am a TG fan. Most of the time it's great, but they are allowed a weak episode every now and again.

Sorry if i upset you mr fanboy.

I agree with Dom, compared with the others in the series last night's episode was a bit flat.

But even last night's show was still far funnier than anything else on TV at the moment.

The only thing that dissapointed me was the F1 car thing.

You could tell right from the start the tyres would have no grip.

Well the missus and I enjoyed it.. Presumably those that don't were having some unexplained problem with changing channel?

I was reading in The Times at the weekend it's shown in 20 countries now, and -apparently- is one of the most downloaded shows on the 'net. They also said that it's not very strictly scripted - so a lot of the mickey taking and banter is actually off the cuff. The show won an Emmy for best unscripted show and Clarkson said he couldn't turn up for the award as he was too busy writing the script for the next programme..

The caravan stuff was staged but as someone else has already said it was great entertainment, almost as funny as the boat thing the other week.

On a downside it does seem to be less and less about cars which is a bit sad.

I used to watch every week but now its just sporadically rather than thinking I need to watch it.
