    Going to Gaylord this Summer?

After looking at Creative's selection of X-Fi soundboards, I clicked on a link supplied, which took me to the site of the 'pro gamer' they call Fatal1ty. I had to double-take when I glanced at the latest 'news'.... Turns out there's a resort in Texas by the name of 'Gaylord', and our collective hero Mr Wendell is playing there. How apt.

    http://www.fatal1ty.com/news/?type=PR&id=33

Upon further investigation, it turns out the place is owned by Gaylord Hotels, "a division of Gaylord Entertainment Company." It also appears that the Gaylord group owns several other places, including Gaylord Palms, Gaylord Springs and who could forget, Gaylord Wildhorse Saloon.

Their website (with the catchy slogan, 'we are defined by our differences'... You don't say...) even gives us an address: They are situated in none other than No.1, Gaylord Drive. The site also shows us information about their staff, including the 'Gaylord STARS'. Turns out young 'Shawn' is one of these STARS... Easy cowboy.

You'd have thought by now, even in Nashville where they're based, that they would have realised 'Gaylord' isn't such a great corporate identity these days. Still, I present it for your humour.

I used to work in a bar and noticed that the napkins were manufactured by a company called 'Benders'. In fact wait a sec (googles...):-

    http://www.benders.co.uk/main.htm

There's a helpline printed on the sides of the packaging, if you call it they answer the phone with "Hello, Benders helpline..."

    Childish, but there you go

Oh the puns, they keep on a comin'.

I'm sure the hole-punchers in my school were made by a company called 'RAPE'... Where oh where do they get their names?

    #EDIT#
Well Theo, I suppose Gaylord suggests homosexuality, whereas McDonalds is just animal faeces in both the farmyard and restaurant sense. Still, I think we can both see why 'Gaylord' is a tad more striking.

I had one of those metal two-size pencil sharpeners in school and quite proudly inscribed on the bottom was the company name "Kum Onit"

If Old McDonald had a farm, why didn't he use any of the animals in his food then?

I had a freebie mug with 'Siemens' proudly emblazoned around the side of it, in plain no-nonsense black text. I never used it
