Hmm my site hosted by them just came back online. The least they shoud do is actually send out some kind of email explaining whats happened.
I have used HU for ages now and ever since their forum was hacked I have had nothing but problems.

I have used HU for ages now and ever since their forum was hacked I have had nothing but problems.
I've just started the process of moving my accounts away from them, I've gone back to 34sp for most of my accounts and http://www.evohosting.co.uk/ for my main website.
I saw an advert for them and thought I would check into them.
Their packages seemed to offer everything I needed, add in that they responded to my questions very quickly and their test servers seemed good too sealed the deal.
They have good reviews on http://www.webhostingunleashed.com/ as well.
Thanks for that, I'll keep an eye on them.
I might try and run a USA based VPS alongside my HU reseller account for a couple of months and see how they compare - I think that's probably the way to go next.
I'm intrigued how the migration will benefit reseller accounts, and if stability and uptime will improve - time will tell...
When i first heard of the plans to try and get some load-balancing to ensure there was an error page always available and a backup mx address - i thought it'd be a seriously great advantage.
But at the end of the day - hosts are managing 99.9% uptime on shared accounts in any case - so i guess it suggests that Hosting-Unlimited don't actually trust themselves to keep their servers online for any extended period of time without having to rely on the backups.
Also - they've been kind of non-commital on any serious information regarding the migration. For example, i noticed they said on the forum that to begin with you'd only have a choice of error pages, and at a later date custom error pages would be selectable. But their time keeping isn't exactly amazing - they'd planned on completing all the changes weeks ago! And still haven't moved all the sites over.
The "official" mods/admins still aren't bothering to appear on the forum (and Dougie can't say he's busy with the migrations - and he knows jack about the specifics of hosting).

This month so far:
Outages: 20
Downtime: 6 hrs, 27 mins, 57 secs
Uptime: 98.250%
That's over an outage a day and over 20 minutes of downtime a day!
And here was an amusing post from Kevin on the 13th of September:
http://www.hu-forums.com/showpost.ph...5&postcount=10
Guess what - there have been 2 outages and almost an hour of downtime since then! How incompetent can a company be?!!?I'm aware of the recent issues with Delos (and Eros yesterday) and have taken steps to ensure that the recent downtime issues don't get repeated. There shouldn't really be any problems with either of these servers from now until when your site(s) have been migrated.

I shouldn't have under-estimated them!!!:
Outages: 23
Downtime: 8 hrs, 18 mins, 1 secs
Uptime: 97.936%
I'm just glad i'm now using another host - it feels like i've jumped from a sinking ship just in time!!
if you've changed hosts now then I think you have made your point - no need to keep going on about them...
Please do not message me about Scan Free shipping, I no longer work for HEXUS.net
Is it just me that thinks this thread has gone its course...
it hardly stayed on track with the original hacking as it was.
