When my nose was broken, it collapsed inwards, (due to someone stamping on my face) so I had to go under general anaesthetic for a "pull through" procedure. I guessed this entailed pulling it back upwards and into it's original place, but it never seemed any different to me afterwards. There were no chisels, or re-breaking invovled since it was done soon enough after the break that it hadn't set.

The worst thing about it was spending time in the ear, nose and throat ward. It was full of people with cancer having their lungs drained etc. It was pretty nasty. On the plus side, one of the nurses was pretty tasty.

This thread is making my nose hurt. I broke mine playing football on ice-covered asphalt but it didn't need resetting, just have a small lump now.

Used to be a saying where I was that you don't have a (unique) face until you've had a broken nose.

Anyone with any medical training (watching casulty counts) knows that the only known treatment for genital warts is a wire brush + Brasso + plenty of elbow grease.

ctid, you'll be fine, smarts abit but not much.

This was near the Kanya Bar me and my mate were trying to dunk each other in the water. My mate threw me under but as he did, he slipped and his knee said hello to my nose, Didnt mention it before because I had completely forggoten about it until I saw this post.

Well, I've had it all done now, and I'll say one thing. Local anaesthetic is good, but when it wears off, it hurts like a bitch. My nose is all bruised and swollen now, but its straight again, thank god.

I've got to go back again next thursday for a checkup, to see how it's healing, and if it is perfectly in line.

As it is now: (it still doesn't look too straight because of the bruising and swelling)

Aye, looks fine now. I'd hate to have a wonky nose, I already have uneven ears after two mastoidectomies on my left ear (it now sits quite noticeably closer to my head).

Its odd, i've always had a squint nose as long as I can remember - I dont think i've ever broken it though...
