My college have a pretty strict filter, but we know that we have a proxy server in the college that is used for networking lessons, and doesnt have any filter software on it (otherwise it wouldnt be able to serve its purpose).
At first, it was just bung Firefox on and set the proxy, but then we found the Techs did regular checks of the PCs from the server room and could track down who installed what. So now its FF on the USB stick
I dont go looking at dodgy stuff, sometimes we have to go to sites outside of the filter for research and resources (And yes, Wikipedia was even filtered at one point!), plus when we're inbetween lessons, I like to have look around some news pages and forums, nothing 'Bad', and being as we are on a course to become future IT Techs, the guys do seem to be a bit lenient with it (Apart from one guy who thought he would mess with my FF config settings while I wasnt there, not thinking that I know how to reverse his changes.)
Just google
+"include form" +"remove scripts" +"accept cookies" +"show images".
or
+"Include Form" +"Remove Scripts" +"Accept Cookies" +"Show Images" +"Show Referer" +"Rotate13" +"Base64" +"Strip Meta" +"Strip Title" +"Session Cookies" +"New Window"
and any combination of the two Just thought I'd create a weeks work for you
Lol well i do agree with everything that has been posted so i suppose what i will do is use vnc. That way you arent really bypassing anything you are just accesing your own computer and doing it on it.

The school seems to be blocking spelling lessons too
What ports at school would be open?
i have tried vnc from my school on quite a few different ports........
they disable activex and java, so it kinda sucks!
they block sites with the word proxy in!
it sucks!!!
it's school. go to class and stop wasting our tax on surfing about wasting your life!
*i joke, i joke*
EDIT: and just be thankful you aren't stuck with Win 3.11 or Acorn RoscOS. Only the computing classes had the internet back then and that was a single ISDN line shared between about 24 machines. No idea what the browser was back then, but it made Netscape 1.2 look good.

if it's not blocked - look at www.logmein.com
Everyone uses this stuff at my school lol
The best one was when they first got a program called net support which let the teahcers pc control/ monitor the students PCs.
It wasnt too long before some bright spark googled net support - downloaded the client program and was running it to control everyones pc lol
The funnyest part was the ICT teacher running about trying to stop it and people typing "Hi <insert teachers name here>" on word.
And the worse anyone got was a sturn talking to!
(i took no part)

A sturn talking to? Hard lines. Maybe they should do what they make Bart do at the start of the Simpsons.
Stoo, isn't your sig a Prince Charles quote?
No. It's a quote from the Minister of Science, Lord Sainsbury.
No idea about how secure it is (not very by the sounds of it), but I've used it briefly here at work a few weeks back, and it's quite an impressive piece of kit. Net Support School was the actual package I used, but I think it's the same as the standard Net Support, just more rounded so kiddies don't get scared of square boxes.
Luckily here we're only a small school, and we have very little bother with kids doing nasties, so it's more of a preventative or support system than an observation tool.
Not sure if we need it yet, so I'll do more testing before looking at a full licensing programme.

When I was still at school they left their central switch unpassworded.
With the web administration screen still enabled.
I believe the password was set to something like "goatselol" before turning off all the ports.
Goatse! He he!
Anyway...used to the firewall monitoring and stuff and my old IT dept was business facing and just left it for a few months and people went nuts and just really got the horn for all things perverse. Don't why they thought suddenly it wasn't monitored.
Anyway reports was made, lists were created. MD calls 6 people into his office one by one to be confronted with their crimes (and some was criminal!), none look especially pleased with themselves since they were given final written warnings.
And why o why would you put pictures of girls and dogs on your network share?! Why are people so stupid?
