Other night we had one with some of the best purple lightning i've seen, every 10 seconds or so. Just had another storm now, heaviest rain i've ever seen apart from Florida and the thunder was so loud! Damn i love thunder !

Just got back from Makros in Rayleigh (Essex) and they've suffered all sorts of problems. The Weetabix box I bought I've noticed is all soggy and they've closed off the wine section because all their items stacked up to the roof got soaked and are unsafe. It must be about 20+ ft up on shelving so you wouldn't want that lot falling on customers.

I've just realised how truly British this thread is, we have the world at our finger tips via the internet and we're using it to talk about the weather

AWESOME! I would love to have seen something like that!!

Hope it didn't do any damage to anyone's electrical equipment though!

We had one very big one here in north west London yesterday, I could even hear it through my headphone playing music loud, as I looked outside it seemed it was only my room that was lit then so I got scared and switched my lights off immidiately and went to bed, but just before that my foot caught one of my cables and I fell over and bang my head really hard. I hate thunder

The wife came back from Tesco's, parked the car, it fell down and she got soaked walking 20m to the house! All while I was watching the show out of the back bedroom window!

Was hoping it was going to take the tree out at the bottom of my garden as its 50ft high and the tallest thing around here (until the civic centre!) in Prittlewell!
Beer is life, life is good!
