Who was THE first President of America, NOT The United States, America?
BTW It wasnt Hanson.

Is this a trick question? I'll assume it is, and then risk looking stupid anyway: George Washington?
No Rave it is'nt a trick question. Honestly mate who was the first President of America. Like I said not the United States of America but America. Right enough Washington was the first President of The United States Of America. But who was the the first President of America? Do Yer get me..
America and The United States Of America where two very different places.
i found this but i lost the will to live after a couple of paragraphs
John Hanson?
Eye popping good!
There was a funny quote here
is it John Hanson?
Ok, where do you get the idea there was a political entity simply called 'America' anyway? Hanson was first president of the Continetal Assembly, which wasn't much more than an administrative body with no tax-raising powers.
Peyton Randolph was the first president of the first Continental Congress in 1774, that what you're after? He had no more power than the chair of a debating society.
it was chuck norris all along wasnt it?
I'm sure there was a president of a chess club in Boston or something before Randolf though .
I know why this is bugging you, it's a classic pub-quiz trick question, but the problem is that politically there is not, and never has been, any entity simply called 'America', and the title of 'president' can mean a lot of things, especially given the complex early history of the US.
That settles it then, John Hanson it is.
