Poor Service From Play.com.....AGAIN

i can safely say ive used play.com for the final time

over the last few weeks ive put some small business there way in the form of Ultimate Force Series 4 DVD, Little Britain Series 3 DVD and Company of Hero's, all of them i have pre-ordered thinking id get them either the day of release (as amazon usually do) or at least the following day.

But oh no, Little Britain and Ultimate Force were released exactly a week ago today, and have they arrived....NO! I had confirmation that they were dispatched the friday before and still nothing.

As for Company of Hero's, that was dispatched on the 27th (release day 29th) and again still not recieved anything.

The worse thing is Play.com dont want to know until 14days after. I could have saved myself so much hassle by going into town on release day and going to HMV, or at least ordered from Amazon.

Anyone thinking of pre-ordering a Wii or PS3....forget it

I've always thought Play was a really good site, one dvd got lost in the post once and they sent it out again. As you said the 14 day wait is a complete bugger.

I haven't pre-ordered with them before... and I have no intention to now either.

I have this same problem with them all the time, delivery is soo appaling! I wish that I could pay for some better form of delivery instead of their crappy "free delivery" I have yet to find an option for better deliveries...

It could be anything from a dodgy postie to a bag of mail being lost.

I am not sure its just play.com at fault here, all companies rely on the postal service, and quite frankly, lately it SUCKS.

I got no mail at all for three weeks, then one day I got 19 letters, all dated over the previous three weeks.

1st class Next day delivery my arse.

the royal mail are permanently on strike, for some of us (e.g. in oxfordshire)

and some businesses have dumped them altogether (e.g. lloyds tsb send out ban statements via TNT)

banks use TNT because its cheaper, but they end up being deliverd by RM. TNT sort them, then deliver them to local sorting offices for distribution (after another set of sorting) by RM.

thats so unfair i cant wait to see the 3 episodes that havn't been aired, my mates say the one in afghanistan is one of the best


if its not here by tomorrow im going to have to be forced to go to HMV and buy it

i can understand the problems with royal mail my service is very on and off, but the fact that 3 pre-ordered disks havnt arrived all from the same company must have some reflection on them

I have never had any problems with Play.com

I preorded Company Of Heroes from them and got it a day after release, and ive oreded numerous other games and music CDs and not had any problems what so ever.

Maybe you are just unlucky with pre-ordering stuff.

Got to say, ive got no complaints with their service, always the place I look when i buying DVDs and games, good prices, free delivery, and my stuff is usually done in 3 working days, so im happy with them =)

I've only ever had one problem with play which they sorted out swiftly. I think you have a dodgy postman! Maybe you should try gameplay for games. Not used them for a while but I preordered my gamecube from them and got it on the release day. Amazon are always good too.
