im not sure, Brosnan was quality he really suited the role he played. However i wouldnt say Craig was bad, the whole film in general had a different feel to it, it seemed more european (like the transporter did) than the other films but i felt he played the role well.

I thought it was a really good film despite loosing its way part way through

he was pretty good as bond, but I thought it could at least be consistent with the timelines of the previous bonds (even 9/11 was mentioned at one point, so how could he have just been given 00 status - definitly ignores all previous bond films)

Saw it last night and loved it. The stunts at the beginning are cool and there were a couple of bits which made the audience jump.

Without giving away any spoilers, anyone who's seen it feel the need to wince and protect something vital at a certain point in the film?

All I've gotta say about eva green is damn!(then I pick my jaw up of the ground).

also made me think about learning to play poker.
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

The whole film is about him earning his 00 status and becoming Bond, so of course all previous films need to be ignored. Time lines have never meant much in this genre, because when did SMERSH or whatever exist?

    They've started from scratch bud.

I hope they haven't completely started from scratch, but i think it's better that they remake one of the older bonds than make a stupidly unrealistic new one.

@steve wanna get one of them, but is it a real one, or a copy..?

Haha i love Play.com's business plan.. "ooh a new bond film's out" "i know, let's roll out all the old memorabilia, and make some specially branded card holders for 3 times the RRP!"

I had that thought also, suppose that is what made his character.

Product placement, loads of sony stuff phones and laptops, all the cars were supplied by ford: [aston martin, volvo, jaguar... even the new mondeo.]

Little spoiler, any else notice richard branson??? He's popping up in loads of films now!

Yeah, I saw that - I also spotted Alessandra Ambrosio who I was helluva lot more impressed with !

I loved it, I like Bond films, but last one I actually thought was semi-decent was Goldeneye :s This one is like what Batman Begins is to the Batman series (apart from the fact they're both prequels).

The poker made it especially good, really worked me up for a game afterwards, though I swore I memorised different cards to those that were being played in the scenes (probably explains why I suck in real life!).

I just had to delete a part of this post coz I realised it was a spoiler - but there were things that set this apart from the bond films which made it so much better, and even though movies in general aren't exactly made to believe let alone a Bond film, it actually was kinda believable.

Feel like a kid again when I wanted to be Bond

I saw it opening night and will go see it again, purely as there is stuff there I missed, im sure of it.

I was sure I saw him getting frisked, but the people I saw the film with reckoned I was making it up.

Great film, not sure if it's my favourite Bond, it's so different to the previous ones - a lot darker.

Like the suggestions of ignoring the previous films - great idea will stop need to explain why he is a great master of disguise Sean, George, Roger etc didn’t look a bit like each other

BTW Roger Moore - one of the best porn star names never to appear in a porn film - as far as I am aware ...

You definitely did see Branson at Miami airport - he's going through the metal detectors, sets one off and does indeed get searched!

Great film, very enjoyable and DC is a great Bond IMHO. Eva Green was excellent too. My only criticisms would be: the plot was a bit jumbled in places and the film's about 20-30 minutes overlong. Otherwise, very, very good indeed IMO.

Richard Branson also flew the Shuttle like craft in the new Superman film as well.
