Are the 26" Samsungs no good then? I don't want anything bigger than a 26" as it would be simply too big. At present I have a 21" Phillips TV and Video combi which is pretty big as it is, but a 26" should fit nicely where that once was.

Anyone seen any good offers? Do Curry's do that a 26" version of that 32" TV with a load of codes to get it cheaper?

I got a 37 inch dell from a local ebayer selling bulks in a PC shop it st albans, £799 with one year 0 dead pixel guarantee return to base warranty including a free wall bracket.

Picture quality is absolutely stunning especially on my new xbox 360 viva pinata is so cute! The only cheese is the response time is 16ms, now while i dont think ive seen any ghosting, it may be jsut me but since having it on in my room my eyesight has taken a very very serious dive Text appears out of focus to me and everything , maybe im just tired and need sleep...

Some dvds over hdmi, from my LG HDMI upscaling player appear to drag somewhat when moving the camera around especially in 1080i mode.
Does anyone shed any light whether those super duper gold plated hdmi oxygen free leads comet sell for 99 a piece actually od some good?
I thought 16ms would be a fine response time, but while i havent seen ghosting my eyes are going nowhere, and sometimes such drag can be seen on dvds in 1080i upscaled, this isnt the case in 360 games, however such as Gears of War, everythings smooth... :/ confusing!

MurphmanL, the problems you describe are apparent on many LCD TV's, regardless of response rate. Camera pans tend to catch out the screens slightly and detail is only fully restored when it stops panning. LCD's with quicker response figures don't really seem to do it much better.

Text however should be sharp, from a pixel mapped source anyway. Maybe you're referring to text on a standard-def source that is being upscaled ?

Re. Comet and Monster cables... Noooooooooo !

yeah text on my pc is crystal clear via dvi... and on xbox but like erm, i figured it was my eyes mate i was lacking sleep severely last week took a day off ot fully get back into the swing and everythings now fine.

Also my eyes seem to have adapted more to the camera panning and now looks normal to me, but watching a normal crt tv is hell for me now

Still on ads with really quick movement (like scrolling text in the woolies ads) or scrolling upward credit texts that moves quickly it looks as iff the text is stuttering as it moves / it moves to fast to be readable (for the eyes to focus on) yet on a normal tv this isnt the case.

Oh well, small price to pay i guess for LCD goodness Otherwise, all is well with general tv ness and makes a fantastic pc monitor 37 inches of DVI goodness!

Yeah, the "tickers" on Sky news and Sports usually look less than impressive on LCD's. Same for any scrolling text really. The new Tosh 100Hz jobs seem to handle it well but it's no biggie. There's always a few trade-offs with any technology and as you said, you won't want to go back to CRT flicker-o-vision.

Maybe the problem with your eyes is down to something else entirely. What exactly are you viewing 37" of You'll go blind !

If you want a big screen, and aren't stuck on LCD, Play are selling the Panasonic TH42PX60 (42" plasma) for £899 in their sale (with free delivery).
