It's SO COLD!

My god, this has to be by far the coldest day I can ever remember.

Weather stations for Scarborough are reporting 1 oC at the moment, but thats a load of rubish.. theres no way on earth its that much. It's definitely in the negatives. Can see your breath in your own house, the windows have frozen so much they look like they are starting to thaw.. think of a broken mirror, but with the windows and ice.

It hasn't snowed yet either, it's just very VERY icey.


Anywhere else really bad?

I ended up on my arse 4 times this morning walking to the bus stop. That said the freezing fog has been around for 3 days in York and the vale, so I should really have expected it.

You'll know what I mean only living in York then. I haven't been out today yet, but it looks a lot worse than yesterday. Got to go out soon too.. dreading it. Hopefully the gritters have been out and I'll just walk in the middle of the main road

My Dad used to live on Trafalgar Road in Scarborough. The joys of going there in a car in Winter and then sliding down the hill until you bump into something heavier (Usually around about the cricket gound!)

Woke up this morning at 5am or my 6-14 shift and it my indoor/outdoor digital thermometer was reading 0.5c here in London

- needless to say the wait at the train station was extra cold this morning!

I was down there the other day, I'd hate to be on that hill. Luckily it wasn't *as* icey then. The street is usually filled with cars.. I'd hate having to slide/drive down there

does central heating stop your fingers/nose from going blue as you trek to the tube/bus stop?

this is when I (almost) wish I had a car with a heater. then I see the fog and the traffic jams and I think again.

Engineer has just turned up.
Maybe I'll check out a last minute winter break where it's warm.

Was -5 last night here in Sheffield and when I checked the thermometer outside at 9am it was -3 and very frosty and icy. But not a cloud in the sky for days so no sign of snow

spent 2 half hours last night i na queue for oceana!!! i have never been so cold in my life. Had to stand there for hour before thye even opened the doors. Damn the uni students coming back home for christmas (im a student )
But yeh i just wacked heating on full wack all night and woke up in sweat, LOVE IT!

I live up a road with a really steep slope at the end which goes onto a main road. If it was in the - figures last night i'm so glad i didn't have to drive anywhere. Not looking forward to the day when the wheels lock on that slope.......heading for fast moving traffic
