Question Has anyone else got this text ?

Got a text message earlier on tonight...

Can i ask a favor? Who own's this mobile?
The number looks a bit "dubious" - like a company number (the pattern of it). I'm wonder if its the latest scam for you to text back and pay £1.50 a text or something ludicrous.

It could be a scam, or just someone playing a (drinking) game. As part of a drinking game we played in the first year at uni we would text random numbers. The first person to get a reply would then choose the person to do a punishment drink, normally a few fingers. So there was a real incentive to make the text messages something that people would reply to. Personally I was not so keen on the game because I did not at that point have free text messages. Also sometimes people would be getting replies quickly thus making us drink a lot (good) or no one would get replies and thus the game did not go anywhere (rubbish).

[Said really quickly in American accent]By drinking games I was referring to non alcoholic substances such as water. I would never condone alcohol abuse or binge drinking.[/Said really quickly in American accent]

It's not legit or a company: they'd have spelled things correctly for a start
