Thanks. How accurate is it?
Edit: I got 131 (my logic let me down).

In my experience, online IQ tests aren't accurate at all. There really is no substitute for a proper IQ test conducted by a professional.
Thanks guys, I think I'll stick with my bbc test though.

I disagree.
On that basis, the IQ measured on children are potentially even less accurate. Children learn at an incredible pace, and with adult guidance, can also 'learn' how to do tests.
Furthermore, how do you differentiate 'intelligent guess', and 'educated guess'? 'Intelligent guess' doesn't come out from nowhere, otherwise it's just a plain guess. It's most likely based on 'something' learned in the past. Some people may be quicker than other at making those associations, but is that all intelligence is about?
Unless a test is based on something that no one can refer to from past (in which case, you are testing the person's ability to pick up new concepts) or something that is excruciatingly unfeasible to learn (e.g. something that relies on raw memory). But again, is that what intelligence is about?
There are many facets to intelligence, and sure enough it's not really feasible to test them all. But since you are being scored against other people, the results can at least say how well you did in comparison to the average people taking the tests.
(And - it's really not that uncommon to find IQ-like standardised tests when applying for graduate jobs. Depending on the job, it may emphasise more on some aspects (IQ tests are meant to be more generic), but the idea is the same.)
From my understanding of the purpose of an IQ, its what your capable of understanding and comprehending, not what you've learnt.
Now children often pick things up differently, i for instance never understood long multiplication/divison until i was about 7. This was because i didn't understand written numbers.
I'm very dislexic, yet i'm also good at types of IQ tests to get money(only 200quid thou... i get more than that for been stupid(dislexic)).
What i'm trying to say is an IQ test is more a case of proving you can think in the same was as the person that designed the test, the question is normally what is inteligence vrs what is knowledge. Personally i think IQ tests are ****
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
iq tests are mostly pattern matching - "spot the odd one out", "what's next in this sequence", "foo is to bar as baz is to ___" and so on
that kind of thing is extremely easy to learn, especially if one reads a lot. for that reason, i tend to score about 20 points higher on crappy online iq tests than i did on professional tests taken as a fresh-faced youth, despite not having changed in intrinsic "smartness" over the years. if anything, booze has killed brain cells
iq is meant to test only "cognitive reasoning", not "knowledge". you're not meant to be able to revise for them, or practice for them other than the basic test structure.
IQ tests dont measure intelligence at all. They measure academic ability. They should be caled AQ tests.
