Technically you can snort it or dissolve it in a liquid, you don't have to smoke it, still it doesn't seem a sensible way to go about finishing coursework.

I find drinking water or cordial and going for a walk occasionally helps.

I try to avoid the caffiene drinks if I'm trying to pull an all-nighter because these on the short-term make you awake and alert, but 3 hours later you'll be coming back down with a crash into a heap on the bed.

Information on pretty much every narcotic, barbituate and hallucinogen around is availdable with a quick search on wikipedia and you certainly don't have to be over 18 to view that.

Children need to learn about drugs at an early age anyway in my opinion to form an intelligent opinion of their own, and seeing as no-one on here is encouraging the use of drugs (other than caffeine) in anything more than a sarcastic way I don't see as it matters particularly.

We just had a drugs talk at school and instead of the normal crap you would expect it was actually worth listening too, it was run by an ex drug force cop

authough for the soft stuff they should be going a bit younger, especially the binge drinking.

Binge drinking is unfortunatly a huge part of our culture and its gonna take many generations to dissapate, nice to hear that they're making an effort to put people with at least some expertise in the field in the position to talk in schools even though most police are notorious for their lack of knowledge in the area.

However it really is a different discussion for its own thread, we've hijacked this one quite enough.

Know who you're correcting before you get your wikipedia-lined smarty pants on! I know all of this, however the primary method of ingestion is smoking.

I know its usually smoked, didn't have to check wikipedia though

However I have just looked at the wiki entry for it, didn't know that it was approved for medical use anywhere tbh, learn something new everyday.

And for the record, my pants are actually more of a grey marl

rocketfuel really works. It's one hell of a strong coffee.

The first post really brought back memories for me when I always used to leave work until the last minute and normally start a couple of days before it's due in(even though I've had months to do it).

It brought back the sense of immense fear/panic I used to get as well when realising how much work I had to do and how little time I then had left.
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

which is usually worsened when you actually get round to doing it that you realised wrong and you actually have a hell of a lot more to do than you first thought!

That's the whole problem I had at university, the very 1st week I was there, they said to pass the 1st year you only needed 40% therefore I did no work. Trying to learn a nearly a years worth of java in 2 weeks was not good.

I was also told that I only needed to go to 1 of 2 seminars a week and at the end of term was told I turned up to the least amount(what did they expect!).
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

Oily fish are good for thinking, the B vitamins will help your stress levels too and let you think a bit more clearly. Mackerel, Pilchards, etc.

Fruit might help keep you awake if you're tired, I'd expect it to make you feel more like doing something physical though so I don't know how much it would help.

Eat plenty of carbs for lunch, pasta or whatever to keep your blood-sugar levels steady throughout the day so you don't bomb out in the early evening.

Every time you complete a long section, reward yourself with a break, go get a drink and go outside for a few minutes or something. It's easy to forget to keep your liquids up when working and the change of scene will reset your mind a bit.

    Oh and...

I share your pain. I've been putting off a dissertation for ages now, and it has to go in today. Been putting it off playing poker for the last 6 hours, but now I have no choice!!!
