reccomend me a vista graphics card..

    as title. i need a

    passive
    agp
    vista-compatible (ie, everything inc aero)

graphics card. Shouldnt be too hard eh? it cant be a big cooling solution, as it needs to go in a shuttle, so fully contained in its 1 slot. I don't care about games and stuff.. at the moment, i've seen the 6200 and the 9550. a while ago ati was much better for 2d quality (this will be hooked up via agp to a lcd tv) - is that still the case?

    Cheers

well it depends what you mean. If you want it to be HDCP (for blu ray & HD-DVD) then the cheapest option (i think) is an x1950 pro (£150ish for the AGP one) otherwise i would say look at the 7600gs or 7300LE

A 6200 AGP should run Vista fine!!

Scan are doing it for under 20 quid this weekend:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/produ...oductID=555654

It is also passively cooled too!!

There is also a X1300 which is passively cooled but is over twice the cost:

The only passively cooled 7600GS I know of will probably be too large.

Do you have a G series or P series chassis? I have both and the P series will have more room for a larger cooling solution!

Yeah, i was going to say 6200 too.
Just bought one for my mum's Vista machine, and it works well, AGP, and passive. It's a shuttle too.

    thanks guys - i've plumped for a 6200.

the shuttle is (if i remember right) an sn95g5. just discovered i'd been running the vista beta for a year on a 9250, which meant no glass (didnt notice, thought the prettyness was a bit understated. lol!)
