The 3870 is a great card.
    The 2900 is:
    very hot
    noisy
    poor value for money.
Isnt that what my post said... performace wise as in what grunt you get fps wise or image quailty while due to the higher power consuption it is hot and noisy.

And I agree the 3870 is a great card and I may be getting one in the near future.

I have had the Radeon 2900 pro, for around three months, and while it can run any game I've tried at 1600 x 1200, it is very loud when stressed.

For me, the 2900 Pro is worth about the cost of the 3850 - £20 at best (priced not according to performance, but according to the need of getting a new cooler if noise is an important consideration).
