    Nvidia G92 8800GT vs 8800TGTS

    Hi all,

Avid gamer. Play Oblivion, COD4, Command and Conquer, Assassins Creed etc.

Only on a 19" at the moment however plan to upgrade soon to a 22"

Will there be much of a performance difference between the G92 8800GT and GTS [512mb versions]

Like to play me games on reasonably high settings.

Not on a 19" monitor fella.

As soon as you start to go to 22" and beyond, then the gap start to open in favour of the GTS.

    Re: Nvidia G92 8800GT vs 8800TGTS

Oblivion can eat whatever you throw at it, especially once you start adding things like QTP and MTAEVAD (or whatever it's called) and other tweaks, so it might be worth getting the GTS if you are not planning another upgrade soon, or don't already have either of these (you don't specify - if you have one already, don't bother).

    Re: Nvidia G92 8800GT vs 8800TGTS

Sorry, meant to mention that I am looking to upgrade.

Have a ATi X800XT PE 256mb now and for the last three years.
Runs Oblivion remarkably well on medium/high settings and all the graphics mods [have about 100 mods installed]

Looks like the GTS is coming down in price a little (around £150) so might get one after the weekend.

    Well its between

Ya, get a GTS .. got a BFG GTS OC coming in tomorrow myself .. can't wait to try it out.
and the GTS will exhaust the hot air outside your case, not inside!

    Re: Nvidia G92 8800GT vs 8800TGTS

On a 22" monitor the 8800GTS G92/9800GTX/8800GTX all perform so similarly is ridiculous. Get the cheapest one and you will never tell the difference.
