£200? Jeesus, that's almost half price! Are you sure you've still got your left kidney?

He cannot be talking about the x2, unless he haggled over a borked card that had a voided warranty

    Re: 2 x 4870 in Crossfire OR 4870X2?

    Bit of a thread hijack

Im running a x1900xtx graphics card atm and think its time to upgrade. I use dual 20 inch monitors at 1650*1080 . Would the 4870 be able to power both monitors or would I be better getting the x2?

    Re: 2 x 4870 in Crossfire OR 4870X2?

It will handle both screens as long as only one is gaming There is absolutely no need for an X2 at that resolution.

    +1

I'm running 4850 here and 1920x1200 gaming is amazing. 4870 would be plenty for 20"

Will the 512mb version be fine or would I be best waiting for 1gb?

    Cool

Now just to wait for payday. Bit worried about my PSU as its 580W but I have a pile of harddrives on it. This looks like an interesting option though http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(15895)...er-Supply.aspx

is that a hyper? If so I'd just change it. Corsair is a good way to go, 520W would be plenty for that but you could go for a 650W TX which isn't bad for the money.

You must be getting confused with the standard Asus 4870.

I have not seen any Asus 4870X2 for sale in the UK yet. Most are Sapphire, Gigabyte and HIS.

Cheapest I have seen the 4870X2 is £320.
