Is it possible for you to route the sound outside of HDMI as a work around?

Re: no sound via HDMI when playing in dx10

yes i could route the sound to the motherboards Realtek sound card but just curious..why no sound is coming out through only when playing in dx10

p.s. my pets(three dogs in the house) have bit off the wires connecting the rear speakers
