    faulty monitor?

    hi

i have brought a budget LED LGE2260 22" monitor and hooked it up to my radeon hd5450 via hdmi. when i have started the machine, all is fine, no dead pixels but the picture does not fill the screen. i have been left with a 3/4 " black border on the left and right side and 1/2 " on top and bottom.

the resolution is set at the recommended 1920x1080p and it creates this border. with a resolution at say 1280x720 it fills the screen.

is it something to do with my HDMI output from the card as the supported resolution is a lot higher. its a 1 gig 5450 card.

or does the hdmi1.3a not support high resolutions? it would seem a shame because its a full hd monitor. i am using the most recent amd drivers to.

    Re: faulty monitor?

HDMI improves the support for 3D, which is becoming very popular due to some giant 3D animated movies.
