    Windows freezing Nvidia driver

My work PC will only load windows with Driver version 4.0.7.2 (27/09/02)

If I uninstall this driver and put the latest WHQL or any newer Nvidia driver windows freezes for a long...............................................time and can only get into windows in safe mode.

    MSI Geforce3 Ti200
    Viewsonic VX800 TFT
    DVI cable
    Windows XP
    XP1600+

I remember around the time I got the TFT screens Nvidia released some drivers claiming better compatibility with TFT screens but for me these had exactly the reverse effect. Ever since I am stuck on this driver release. Also got another PC with the same TFT screen and MSI GF3 Ti200 on a different motherboard that only works with this driver.

Hmmmmm! So tempting to just leave it alone.

Is there an update to the AGP driver for the motherboard?

Mainboard is Abit KG7 has an AMD-761 Northbridge, VIA 686B Southbridge and Highpoint IDE controller.

    Latest AMD Chipset Drivers
AMD Driver Pack, Version 1.30 - (Detects the current operating system and hardware and installs the proper drivers. See the release notes for the driver versions included.)
    SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
    - Motherboard with the AMD-751, AMD-761, or AMD-762 Peripheral Bus Controller (Northbridge) and optionally the AMD-756, AMD-766, and AMD-768 Peripheral Bus Controller (Southbridge)

Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows ME, Windows NT 4.0, or Windows 2000.

You think it's OK to run this because there is no mention of Windows XP

I've had some bad times with this motherboard and right now it works mostly fine. How can it be AGP drivers when I have the same problem on two different motherboards?

Hmmm, very strange. I aren't sure what the problem is. If your AGP drivers are OK and you're getting the same problem on two motherboards, then its likely to be a driver problem as you say...

Where to go from here I don't know.
