It won't kill your card (disclaimer though in case it does but I have never heard of a softmod killing a card!)

Trust me, firelord, I have had some of the worst PC luck in the world
For a start, when i was a noob and afraid to even open the pc, back in say, christmas 2002, I downloaded a BIOS update and software for my old mobo
I then spotted a software Processor overclocking tool,
The Mobo limit was a 2200+ i believe, I was running a 2200+ so i instantly whacked the clockspeed up by 200mhz, and upon next reboot u can imagine the computer wasn't too pleased... it fried the mobo and also half fried the cpu, that later was found to be the cause of the lockups i had in mid 2003
So if my luck is anything like the above inccident, overclocking is an extreme risk for me lol
Can't remember what the mod does .what does your card o/c to? Mine was a guarenteed 300/300 card but it ran a bit faster.Your gfx card has good cooling.

I clocked it the other day core only, as i couldnt be arsed to do memory, to i think a 381mhz core, got erorrs/artifacts so backed down to 376mhz and was fine afterwards.
Didnt try memory tho... I restored default clocks tho as i found the omega drivers produced far better fps on far cry v1.1 for me, when v1.2 emerges i shouldnt need to overclock, as everything else is fine
If I won the Lotto tho I'd proberly buy a top of the line lappy, and for my main rig, a 6800Ultra, or possibly a X800 XT PE, after a long debait on here of course
Hmm ive pressed for it, upon next boot it upgraded the drivers, now nothings changed, display still reads - Plug and Play Monitor on Radeon 9700 Pro (OMEGA)
But in the driver control panel it says - adaptor type - Radeon 9800....
Im confused, clock speeds dont appear to have changed
