    No wires.

A simple guide on types of monitors

    Slot Mask

More recently, NEC and Panasonic have opted for a new method, a hybrid of Shadow Mask and Aperture Grill, combining the two technologies in an effort to attain only the advantages of each. The Slot Mask is a mix of both, with vertical slots and the firmness of the Shadow Mask (using a proper metal mask and not filaments). The resulting brightness is not as great as with Trinitron technologies, but the image gains in stability. The main monitors using this technology are made by NEC and Mitsubishi and go by names such as ChromaClear or Flatron, for Flat Tension Mask.
..... To sum up, the 915FTPlus is a pretty attractive monitor that will appeal to users who cannot stand the Trinitron lines.....
This is the updated version of my LG:

To date i havn't had a single problem with it despite using it allmost 24/7.
My mum had an ADI 19" CRT with a Trinitron tube which was similar and still works brilliantly 4 years later.

However, she recently replaced it with a pair of Sony 18" TFT's and OMG what a difference side-by-side the colours and brightness of the Sony 18" TFT next to the 19" Trintron CRT. The CRT has been powered off ever since.

This is the one to go for, and is sooo sexy in anthracite http://www.lacie.com/uk/products/product.htm?id=10037

I have the 19" and the image quality is second to none, also has loads of connectors as it is a GFX designer monitor and hence Mac compatible also built in USB hub.

I see someone else also advised it, do you see a pattern here

the BNC cable certainly helps, my picture is extremely clear and stable, i got a bit of fuzzyness with the old cable that was supplied with the samsung, what i noticed was that its easily interfered with, the shielding is not up to much, I had my Zalman reserator sat next to the monitor and it created mucho interference, so make sure you dont have anything sitting around it (speakers etc)

I've bought over 100 iiyama CRT monitors for both work and home and consider their better models to be excellent. They do the job well. What more do you need?

/iiyama 19" TFT at home though
