Yeah, I'm going to be buying a new rig soon, and will have about 4k available, not really planning on spending anything over 1k though.
The budget is just 4k - I'd perfer to spend on 4k - But yes if I spend 2.5k then i'd be happy! I have a 27 inch monitor already, RAT 9 mouse and Blackwidow keyboard, just looking for a brand new gaming rig. I'd even pay for it to be built for me! - If you had 4k and wanted a top range gaming rig and case, what would you go for? with GTX 690's or Titans? or just SLI 680's. No ATI's It's too overkill for 1080p I know but would you still go for it? maybe knowing one day i'll upgrade my monitors and rig.
Use 2k to build yourself a decent rig and use the other 2k to go on holiday somewhere warm away from snow in blooming April
Yeah, if you are absolutely happy spending 4k then get Titan SLI, but buy some extra monitors too
Whats the point of two Titan graphics card for a 1080P display?? The only people I know on OcUK who have similar setups are actually not only driving multiple monitors, but also in 3D.
On top of this Nvidia is producing a second SKU based on the GK110. It will be interesting to see whether this ends up as GTX780 or not. Even then it will be interesting to see how much it will priced too. Haswell is also around the corner too.
Edit!!
Even with multiple monitors, not all people find it that great,as it is dependent on the sort of games you play too. Some games work well with multiple monitors, others not so much.
In reality it is better to try it out first to see if you like such a setup, before spending thousands of quid on it.

Got back from Afghanistan a couple of months back, I think I'll stick to the snow!
Aye two Titans sounds awesome or two 690s!, and like I said I have them to update my monitors in the future! I'm sure It won't crash If I don't run something higher than 1080 with them, just be an overkill! Any recommendations on keeping them cool? case wise?
The problem,is though technology moves so fast, within a year something that costs much less may end up faster.
Don't believe me??
Someone could have a got a pair of GTX580 3GB cards for like £900 in early 2012.
A pair of GTX670 cards a few months later, were not only faster, but consumed less power, had more features but were £200 cheaper.

no such thing as overkill in the gpu market. what might be overkill today, wont be tomorrow.
the point is, u can spend 1.6k on gpu power now that will last u 3+ years or buy a 680 now, 780 next year and 880 the following year making the cost close to if not more then two titans
It terms of normal ratios:

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/30-de...4xusb-30-9-in-
They are some cheaper Hazro equivalents too.
There are some new ultrawide monitors too:

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/29-de...4-port-usb-hub
These are all IPS panels,so it means decent viewing angles and colour reproduction.
There are also more "gamer orientated" 120HZ panels, but these tend to be 1080P.

The http://www.scan.co.uk/products/30-de...4xusb-30-9-in- is the one to get as that retains 16:10 ratio .
You mean like the people who bought a pair of GTX580 3GB cards for £900 which were beaten by a pair of GTX670 cards for £700 in only a few months??
You also fail to realise, those cards have value,ie,you can ditch them and get the money back. Titan is most likely going to still cost you more.
Apples and oranges and from what you yourself have said, the next gpu's will be based on the same architect, i believe the 600 series was made on a new architect, not fermi which was used for both 400 and 500 series.
Kepler i believe is 600 series, the titan is also Kepler and from what you stated before, so could the 780.
Here is a food for thought. Do you expect a single 780 to beat a single titan?
