What's the best way to test for a stable overclock?

Any recommendations? Or is a 3dmark application a good idea - (ie no artifacts = OK)
I want my bfg 6800gt to run at bfg 6800u speed

If youve got a GT then coolbits will allow you to test your overclock before you run an application.

So you shouldnt get any artifacts at all.

To test stability of it i usually stick it on a 3D mark 01 loop for around 10 times.

thanks for the input - but the coolbits thing doesn't really test it thoroughly as I get some graphical glitches in cs:s
Guess i'll try clocking down a bit ;(

On a fresh overclock the test will work, but as it gets hotter from being clocked you start getting artifacts. I've found going slightly under the test limit is always best.

Always under the limit m8 and get some better cooling if you can afford it.
