    Overclock Beyond Apps Capabilites

I'm having trouble unleashing the full potenial of my 5700LE. The clocks start/are stock at 250/300. Currently, im sat at 525/508. The memory has hit its maximum, but the core hasnt. It wants to go higher.

Unfortunatly, Powerstrip isnt letting me. The max i can adjust it to is 525. (Then the slider is at the top of the bar)

Is there any programs out there that will let me raise the clocks as high as i want? Tried all the usual suspects, Rivatuner, Powerstrip, NVHardpage, and not one will let me.

    Thanks in advance.

daft question but have you tried coolbits?
I know that on my 6800GT I can raise the core slider above 525 (although the card would fail the test if I tried to run at that )

You've got the memory from 300MHz to 508MHz (600Mhz DDR to 1016MHz DDR)...? And got over a 100% overclock on the core too? Some might call you greedy!

You know what... I didn't believe you at all. But then I looked around and saw that some of the 5700LEs have DDR3 on them. So yes. It could deffo happen. Bit of a bargain low end card then? Or is it still severly hamstrung in other ways?

Actually... Having read around some more I'm not sure I do believe you after all... Most of the 5700LEs seem to have DDR1 on them... So what have you got?

Went into powerstrip and recorded the overclock as adaptor defaults, so now i can clock higher it seems.

    Especially for you non-believers....

Only link I can find is this... And usefully enough the RAM is covered by heatsinks:

Well being DDR1 I can quite confidently say that it's only 254 real MHz (508 DDR) which is nothing to get excited about. Nice overclock anyway but a 5700LE with DDR3 RAM on it would be a 'bit' of a bargain. Got any 2k3/2k5 links out of curiousity?

Out of curiousity I am now running 03 on my HTPC (1.3GHz Banias, Radeon 9600 @ 450 / 250)... It won't be ANYTHING like directly comparable but I reckon it's the same ball park... Would be better if I could overclock my banias without the onboard sound dropping out... Will try it anyway later for a fairer comparison as the CPU is happy to run @ 1.8GHz
