Just brought my Second Dell WS (connections?)

Managed to blag myself a second 20' Dell WS monitor from aria specials. I have already got a dual monitor setup with my TFT in the DVI connection on the back of my 9800pro and my CRT in the VGA connection.

Just wanted to know if there would be any substantional difference in the quality of the displays if I plug my new one into the VGA port?

Its gonna have to be like this till I build a new machine with a dual DVI graphics card.

if you're feelin flush you could always whack a pci 9250 in there and have it on dvi with 3 monitors

there is a difference in usability - dvi is always the right size onscreen, via ther dvi connection it'll need width/height resizing

any idea how much one of these cards would cost? tbh I dont even have enough electric plugs for two monitor

7000 9250 9200 the 9200 is tho only one in stock tho at £33. i'd try the vga first of course but im sure you could find a second hand 9200 or maybe a fx5200.

Why not use a DVI-VGA adapter and use both in anolog mode so they'll be the same. Much better than using a garbage videocard. Your 9800 is a beast compared to those other cards.

the dells have multiple connections for a reason after all.

i have things plugged into three of the four connections on my dell, and i'm happy enough with the results (though as i said earlier, VGA requires you to continually change the width/height/h-pos/y-pos of your display, whereas DVI is always spot on)

to be fair i'd have to agree, i ran 2 iiyama e431s's one on dvi and one on vga and apart from the above issue, there was really no probs dvi is nice but not essential.

I run dual LG1710Bs off a 9700Pro through DVI & VGA and the only difference is that the DVI calibrates itself and the VGA doesnt.

Looks wise you can see a difference but after you match the settings on both they look exactly the same.

What do you thing of the monitor? how big is the screen IE how high and how wide.
