    Unhappy ASUS V9999GT/TD advice

Recently bought Asus V9999GT/TD 128Mb DDR 6800GT from overclockers.co.uk on special (less than a month).

    Installs fine & runs good.
Twice now games have failed to start syaing OPENGL card not found or similar
Nvidia drivers are there in device manager & can still drive desktop at high res, but all games will not start (BF2, HL2, CS:S, CZ, COD).

Remove hardware and re-install & all is good again. This has happened twice with latest official Asus drivers (I think), now running standard Nvidi drivers & no other porp. Asus stuff & see how it goes.
Previously system v.stable with Geforce 4Ti4800

Any similiar experiences / thoughts ????
phoned overclockers & they said check using latest drivers (which I am) otherwise it's send back for testing.

    Thanks ThePimPsTeR

    PC spec: MSI KT6, XP2500 Barton, 512Mb PC3200, ASUS V9999GT/TD

    UPDATE from OP:

OK been running over a week now with vanilla Nvidia drivers 77.72 I think - no further instances of system 'losing' OpenGL support. However, like this the Asus extra software (system/temp monitoring for GFX) won't load.
Will try with Asus latest drivers & see if happens again - if it does I think I'll send back to O/C.

Any views / comments - bit disappointed really, even though it was a bargain.

    thanks PimPsTeR

I would put it down to the asus driver/utills being based on an older Nvidia driver set that does not fully support the latest games.

Lol im using that card right now, my friend bought it but since he went on holiday, he lent it to me We discovered though that it has artifacts on many games (not Guild Wars, CSS or BF2 thank god) so I'm compiling screenies, pics and videos (on my phone to show the graphics card is actually processing what's on the screen) of the errors. Why? Because we already sent it back to overclockers and apparently they tested it and found nothing. The problem is bad though because there are tons of games he can't play, because the card would just confuse itself - Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Painkiller and SW: Battlefront are bad when it comes to this, and I got many other games to test yet....

Saying that though its wicked fast... i think we both just had a wiff of bad luck
