    scanfx 6800 gs

    Ok ive ordered one of these from scan, it looks like a xfx card but i heard tht its an unbranded card but it says it can be used for sli how can an unbranded card be used for sli if they unbranded? also any1 got 1 and what they perform like?

    apparently as long as the core is the same they can be used for sli i got one of the 7800 gtx unbrandeds it says dell on it lol
    but eyr as long as the core is the same it shud be cool

    are all the scanfx 6800 gs use the same core then? or if i order another do i have to be lucky?

    Yes they all use the same core. All other (non sannfix) 6800 Gs will use the same core as well, and if I'm right will run in SLI with each other, but then again if they'er clocked at different frequencys (such as some of the XFX's), they might not, I can't be sure on that one.

    all pci 6800gs' can run in sli with each other although pre overclockes 1s might be downclocked if paired with astock one(or you can overclock the stock one)

    so Naggallywoo you are right

    got my scanfx 6800 gs thru today and its not an unbranded one its a xfx one with tv out cable/driver/manual and small box without the "games" for 139 quid lks like a bargain

    yea, wish id seen this thread before ^ ^ the cards ARE infact XFX cards just stated as Scan branded OEM cards

    eeeeeexatly the same cards... without the pretty xfx box ^ ^ hope you have fun with your new card

    actually i got it in a cool xfx box with those little stories on the back =p 30 secs of quality reading =p

    hehe cool didnt know that one ^ ^ 'learn something new every day' as they say i always thought they would come brown boxed

    love the storys that come with the cards keep me amused for a minute or 2 lol
