Cheap DVI Graphics Card for 2005FPW

Hi All, hope someone can help me!

I have recently purchased a 2005FPW monitor (see bargain forum) but want to use it on my second PC which is a little old now and does not have a DVI output. I want to use the DVI output because I intend soon to plug my shiny Xbox 360 into the VGA port.

What is the cheapest graphics card that will support 1680x1050 through the DVI port? I am not remotely interested in 3d performance (that's what the other PC and Xbox is for) and I'm skint so really ... cheaper the better

The Radeon 7000?, Radeon 9250?, or even 9550?

I really hope someone knows cos I can't seem to find out anywhere!!

    Craig

Well I use a vanilla Radeon 9600 256mb with my 2005FPW, it's passively cooled and the picture quality through the dvi output is great. You should be able to pick one up cheap second hand

I've got a 2nd hand vanilla 128mb SapphireRadeon 9600 for sale here . It has a DVI port and should be able to handle 1680x1050. I'll google it for some specs

Think you need 50 posts to see the for sale section though...

    Guys,

I'm so sorry I missed your replies earlier

Particular thanks to teachmech for finding the ideal card on Scan. I have double checked the NVidia site and apparently all 6 and 7 series cards officially support 1680 x 1050.

That was also a cracking price on Scan ... made even better with the free postage!
