Depends what you play the most and also what screen you use.

I play BF2 pretty much all of the time....it has monopolised my gaming habits since it's release and I used to be able to play at 1208x1024 with all settings maxed on a single GTX.

I have since changed my screen to a Dell 2405W and, if you expect good frame rates using a single GTX then you have to lower the res. to 1280x1024 and set the detail levels to medium....not my idea of ideal.

I dropped another GTX in for some SLi action and because the game is coded to take advantage of the Sli setup I can now play BF2 at 1600x1200 (scaled up to fill the 1920x1200 by the screen) at ultra high detail settings so...for my use it was worth the outlay.

I suppose it also depends on how patient you are....good luck with your decision!!

I recently ditched SLI 7800GTs......in a word "craptastic"

EVERYTHING I play doesn't seem to benefit SLI, which makes me wonder what does make SLI worth its money....

Oh, you will get a good 3D Mark score with SLI though if its e-peen waggling your after

Either go 7800GTX is you really want to stick with nVidia or get an x1900XT.
