Building a mega (relative term <--- check out current spec!) system next year though, when I can afford it. So it's just got to do me until then.

Your system is basically what I had until Xmas . I had a Jetway motherboard and XP1900+ though. Going PCI-E and 939 is a huuuge performance increase. I cant believe how fast games are after getting my new graphics card today.

Cool, hopefully i'll be PCI-e and AM2 when I get my new machine.

Current one is actually a 1700+ but its been OC'd and is recognised as a 2000+ now.

I never got into overclocking until I got my Opteron. My motherboard has an expansion slot for AM2 but it will be worth just buying a new board by then so I can have DDR2.

May I ask... how? I wasn't aware of any AM2 motherboards yet.

The Asrock DualSataII comes with a CPU Expansion slot. Asrock said they will be releasing an expansion for the AM2 socket for this board, along with a BIOS update.

In a month I went from 6600GT > 6800GS > 7800GT. Definitely noticed a difference in speed and quality from each step up.
