    hahaha.

I have a balanced view. I owned a 7800GTX for 3 months, and it was crap. Ive owned 3 Nvidia cards, and 2 ATi cards. Things that don't warrent a decent respose, would be posts made by wild_quinine.

It's fact, the X1800XT is a better card than the 7800GTX 256mb. Reviews show it to win in nearly every game, apart from things like Age Of Empires, and Black & White 2. When it first came out, it was only on par or just behind the GTX, now with about 4 driver releases, it's far better. ive owned a 7800GTX like i said, and it handled AA/AF at 1600x1200 a lot worse than this card does at 1600x1200.

The 512mb GT is just a bit silly, which is always true, of these special kind of cards, that companies like Gainward release. For the price, you can get something better.

I couldn't really care less what people think, im hear to put my point accross and help people, not make freinds, especially when a lot of people are ******s here.

I pretty much ignore people who say this is better than this, etc, bla bla, bla, ive seen more reviews than you can shake a stick at, and spoke to people who own all sorts of cards, etc etc. You gotta stick to the big name sites. It-reivew? wtf is that crap. I know what cards, do what, and what are best, i don't need to read another view.

What were we talking about again.........

Maybe you do have a balanced view, but that wasn't it.

That's called a biased view. Balance is when you weigh up pros and cons, in order to reach a conclusion. Biased is when you say 'It was crap'.

People likely to say biased things include idiots, bigots, fanboys, and people who are just repeating things that they have heard, because they don't understand the conversation.

Things that don't warrent a decent respose, would be posts made by wild_quinine.
That's lucky, because yours was nothing like a decent response.

It costs the same as a GTX. It performs the same or better, particlarly in games that like to load a lot of textures. I am enamoured of this idea. It's a nice, neat, single height card and probably the only high performance Nvidia card with 512mb that is worth paying for. Generally, I prefer ATI cards, but I'm more than willing to tip the nod to whomever brings out the winning formula. You know why? Because I'm not a fanboy.

You say that. But you also say this:

Interesting side note - if you ignore yourself do you go away?

Now I'm not saying anything is better than anything else right now.

In fact I'm being CAREFUL not to, because I generally think that ATI produce better engineered cards. However, in this case, the GT 512 is faster (not better, faster) in most situations than an X1800XT.

What I want is some qualification of how X1800s are better than 7800s, because ATI dropped the ball badly with the x800 series, in my opinion. They had to clock them damn near to heat death just to make them fast enough to be a 'new generation' and the X850XT PE would run at something like 95C when an equivalent Nvidia card could be under full load at just over half that number.

I want to know how ATI have picked up that ball and if they can run with it this time around.

That's arrogant enough but you also say

So you have owned 5 germane video cards and you know it all already? I've owned twice that many and I'm still looking for genuine answers. You know why? Because there are a lot of cards out there, with a lot of differences. There's a lot of pros and cons to each card, and each manufacturer and each generation. It's worth looking around and asking questions and getting 'another view', because otherwise all you are is ignorant, or arrogant, or both.

Smokey, you’ve been here for a while, and I value your input in a lot of threads. But im going to give it to you straight: The last few weeks you have been acting pretty immature when it comes to any ATi and nVidia debate. If you don’t want to write a thought out reply, then please, don’t post anything.
wild_quinine has raised some good points. If you don’t want to address them fine: Just don’t post useless comments please.
Also, are comments like “especially when a lot of people are ******s here” really needed ?. The same goes for your comments against wild_quinine’s posts. Again, if you don’t agree, fine, but you don’t need to get personal about it. You are always going to meet people in life that you dislike, but there is no need to be rude about it, just let it brush over you shoulder mate
Go and grab a beer and chill
