    Second 7800GT Or Single 7900GT?

I bought an XFX 7800GT a while back with the idea of purchasing a second one when the price fell, but with the 7900GT out and at such a competitive price I'm wondering if it makes more sense to purchase a single 7900GT and use that rather than a second 7800GT for SLI.

Or would you expect to see the price for the XFX 7800GT to drop significantly in the near future?

    Cheers,
    Jim.

I think there's alot guys letting off their 7800GTs, u might get a chance to snatch a cheap one to run SLI.. but generally I would just wait till the 8xxx series launches later this year.. 7800GT is still uber strong for games by today's standard..

Not big enough of a difference to go from a 7800 to a 7900, but if you have the cash to flash, then just get another 7800GT. 7800GT SLI is going to be far faster than a single 7900GT.

But then it really depends how much ur willing to spend..

Sell ur 7800GT and get ~160ish for it depending on model.. and pay the difference.. about £100 for a 7900GT..

OR.. pay £160ish for another 7800GT.. an extra £60 will get u to a 7900GTX level.. perhaps even more..

I have the same thought, I paid £260 for my 7800gt but its probably worth £100 less already. It may be worth running sli now Nvidias drivers allow different manufacturers cards to run in this mode.
