cool. i was considering getting my mum to buy a laptop, as she's currently in hong kong at the minute. curious as to the price of actually importing it back into the country, and whether this would still make it cheaper than buying a laptop here in britain

Just make sure you don't bring more than one laptop back per head. Hardware price in Hong Kong is not really that low. The only thing that is cheap are stuff made in China (like graphic cards, and gadgets like ramsinks. And of course replica stuff like the fake zalman cooler.)

Doubt so, the supplier in Hong Kong mark up the CPU and Harddrive prices quite badly because they're basically the only supplier (Hong Kong is a tiny place). For example they hold the stock of Seagate 7200.8 in order to sell off the 7200.7 stock (which wouldn't sell if the new one is out). They put the price of PD805/820 up by 30%. Instead of getting more stock they put up the price.

They're not like our lovely SCAN.

If I were to predict. Since the T2500 is approx 205 pounds there, more expensive than SCAN even included vat, Conroe is going to be a marked up (like in the UK). You're probably best trying to source it in the US

it is, yes, Charlton Fan. The manufacturers code on the dabs website ends with the following characters: G5F3, which according to Trusted Reviews is the gddr3 card. I have two of 'em sitting in my computer now, but have not had the time to overclock them yet.
