    Hi,

Well my replacement A02 revision arrived this morning and has a lovely dead pixel!

Other than that it is an improvement over the A01 I originally got, text appeart tp be sharper and I haven't noticed any backlight buzzing.

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!

Replacement No.3 arrived about 30 mins ago and has a lovely scratch up the screen. On the plus side no dead pixles (that I have spotted), no backlight buzzing and cirsp clear text!

I think I'm going to explode, replacement No. 4 coming next week - fingers crossed this time it's spot on!

Replacement No. 4 arrived yesterday and so far looks to be perfect, I've had it hooked upto my laptop and ran dead pixel buddy to check for any dead pixles and could not spot any.

Text is clear, there is a slight humm from the back light which the other A02 replacements did not have but am unsure if I should chance a 5th replacement or just stick with this one.

I have upped the back light a tad whcih has stopped the hum and still able to use the monitor comfortably without burning my retinas.

    Hi Neil,

    Just a couple of things..

Are you dealing with Dell direct for these replacements?

Did they replace it for 1 dead pixel?

Thanks mate for all your updates!

    Darren

I got my 2407 from pcbuyit for quite a bit less than any other stockist. Arrived on-time, A02 revision, perfect operation, very satisfied. The only worry was that my CC company initally flagged up the transaction (I haven't bought anything on-line for over 6 months because of being away from home), so I had to phone them and tell them I actually was ordering it.

    Hi Darren,

The first couple of exchanges were sorted out by Scans supplier with Dell, they did swap out the dead pixel screen but only as I had been mis-informed on their policy for dead pixels and I kicked up a fuss.

The last replacement I dealt direct with Dell and have been very pleased with the service I have had from them so far.

Hopefully I won't need to contact them again though.

If your purchase turns out to be good then i might as well save myself £100 and go with the Dell rather than the Sammy.

    Hi Darren,

I'll be able to give better feedback on it once I have my new CPU for the PC it will be used on permanantly, I've only got a cheap Celeron in the system at the moment so I could flash the BIOS to support my 7950GX2. Hopefully in the next week or so I'll finally have my new PC up and running.

    Neil,

Not to be rude, but thats alot of screens! Maybe ask them to check the screen for dead-pixels and noise?

Good luck with the sceen mate.

    Hi Noni,

Yeah I could have done without having to change so many times, the third swap out would have been great had it not had the scratch to the screen. It's lost me a lot of time having to sit about waiting for replacements getting delivered and fauly units collected, Dell use one courier for delivery and another for collection so at one point last week I had three monitors sat here taking up space.

As the initial screen was A01 there was always going to be the 1 swap out due to the banding issues, unfortunatly Dell sent 2 faulty replacements before sending No 4 which appears to be perfect (touch wood), just can't wait to give it a good run in some games and general usage.

Might be best if you PM me as well once you've got a better idea of how good it is.

    Hope it all goes well.
