New dell 2007WFP stuck pixels :(

Just got the above today, and i've noticed some stuck pixels in the bottom left of the screen, there looks to be about 4 stuck, what's the best thing i can do, i can only notice them on a totally black screen, but i know they're there, would dell even consider replacing the screen?

    Thanks for any help

    Andy

Have you tried gently pressing the screen? I had a few on my samsung, but that cleared them and they havent come back

tried that a bit but didn't know how hard to press, they're stuck on i think, so i can only see them on dark screens. I don't mind too much after getting over the initial shock of "oh balls i've got stuck pixels." Most of the stuff i own has a small defect so i'm kinda used to things not being perfect .

Don't think i can be bothered with the hassle of getting a replacement, i'm at uni, and the monitor was originally delivered to my parents.

IIRC read somewhere on the Dell forums that they refuse to rma anything with less than 5 or 6 dead pixels, BUT they will if there are 2 dead pixels alongside each other.

I may be wrong but your best bet is to hit up their forums, there's plenty of ppl there with all the know how to work the system.

failing that if its a01/a02 rev you could always try for a return citing banding etc.

maybe it would be worth trying for a return then, since the stuck pixels look like a small scratch on the screen, there are about 4 pixels stuck in an upwards pointing arrow formation

You will have to check Dell's policy on faulty pixels, most will replace the panel if there are a small number all clustered within 5mm of each other as it means that area of the screen is quite distorted.

Just speak to Dell I'm sure they will sort it out.

Does anyone know where to find the service tag on a 2007WFP, i can't find where it is on my monitor, and the website isn't working properly to show me where to look, also roughly how long is it?

    Thanks

Suggests that your monitor doesn't have a service tag.

Before you do, have a read and maybe even post on http://forums.us.dell.com/supportfor...id=dim_monitor, there's helpful people there that will tell you exactly what to say to get a replacement.

edit - just had a quick browse myself and found the thread I refered to in a previous post, http://forums.us.dell.com/supportfor...ssage.id=67561.

    Hope this helps.

thanks for that, the second link would imply that i may stand a good chance of getting a replacement since the stuck pixels are adjacent to one another and there a may 4, although i can't really count them accurately. I'm not too good at making this kind of request to a company, i usually give up the first time they say no, i'll have to try and persist with this one

I have a picture of the stuck pixels now - since dell requested one. Given the way the stuck pixels look, i'm not over reacting am I. Anyway the picture is below, it's a bit blurred but you can get the gist of it if you take that into account.

    Thanks

I would be returning that as it's quite noticable and bright. Can't see you having a problem with this one...

I would not consider keeping this. I know its alot of hassle for you to return it, but that is pretty noticeable and shouldnt be there.

Luckily for me I had 2 stuck pixels when i got my tft, but i rubbed them as clunk did and theyve been fine ever since

Have you tried massaging the pixel, sometimes it helps bring it back to life. I've ordered my 2007wfp 2 weeks ago and dell say I haven't paid them but I have. Never order from dell again. sigh.
